Welcome to bluewatermarina.co.uk
From Saturday 24th October, we ask that if you live outside the Doncaster area, you DO NOT visit the marina until restrictions have been reviewed.
We appreciate that this advice will be disappointing for many but we MUST follow the rules to control the spread and keep each other safe.

Thank you for your co-operation x

NEW OFFICE OPENING HOURS

From Tuesday 28th July, the marina office will be open Tuesday to Saturday 10am until 3pm.

Boat viewings however are still strictly by appointment only.

We look forward to seeing you!

COVID 19 UPDATE - 26th June 2020

As you may have heard, the Government has this week announced measures to continue the easing of lockdown. Importantly, this means that from Saturday 4 July all boaters in England will be able to stay overnight on their boats.

COVID 19 UPDATE – 29th May 2020

To all our customers,

Following CRT’s latest boaters update of 28th May, we understand that from 1st June you will be able to undertake longer journeys on your boat.  However the Governments guidelines on second homes remains unchanged so you are not allowed to stay on your boat overnight (whether in the marina or out on the system). The only exception to the rule is for those whose boat is their primary residence.

Should you decide to visit/use your boat we would ask you to reduce your movements in the marina as much as possible.  Please strictly observe social distancing especially when getting on and off your boat.  Continue to respect hand washing and PPE guidelines.

Although the marina remains closed to the general public we intend to slowly reinstate sales viewings, these will be strictly by appointment and only with a member of staff in attendance.  All customers will be required to observe social distancing regulations and encouraged to use any PPE they deem necessary.

It’s been a very challenging time and it is not over yet, so please bear with us whilst we adjust to a ‘new normal’.

Stay Safe

COVID 19 UPDATE - 15th May 2020

Following ever changing advice from Canal and River Trust we feel it would be useful to issue an update setting out our present understanding of the situation.

Many of you will be aware that the Marina has a large number of liveaboard moorers.  They are situated throughout the site, both on the canal side and in the basin itself.  Many of these moorers fall into the ‘at risk’ category, including vulnerable and shielding groups.

During lockdown our leisure moorers have, in the main, adopted a responsible attitude by keeping away from their boats and considerably reducing the risk of infection.  We are very grateful to them.

In light of the above and in the interest of safety, we intend to remain closed to the general public.  However, all moorers can now access their boats and we set out below CRT and marina conditions that apply at the present time:

  1. The main gates should remain closed at all times.  Please use your gate key to enter the marina and be sure to lock the gate after you.
  2. Only members of your own household are permitted on your boat.
  3. You may undertake short boating trips only, avoiding the use of locks and any staff operated structures if possible.
  4. You must return to your home mooring after each trip
  5. You may not stay on you r boat overnight and you must return to your primary residence.
  6. Whilst on the marina please use common sense and be respectful of other berth holders and allow at least a 2 metre distance. You must not congregate in groups.
  7. Please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before visiting the marina.  Use regular hand hygiene when handling ‘common equipment’ e.g main gates, hosepipe etc
  8. Please feel free to wear a face mask/covering (or any other PPE) whilst on the marina.

We hope this clarifies our current understanding of the present position.  There will inevitably be changing advice from the Government/CRT and we will issue further updates as necessary.

In these extremely difficult times we thank you for your patience.

Stay Safe.

Covid 19 update: 13th May 2020

Following a further update received this morning from The Canal & River Trust, we felt it necessary to update you again on the ever changing situation.

From Canal and River Trust:

From today, Weds 13 May 2020 You may undertake short boating trips only from today – avoiding use of locks and any staff-operated structures if possible – providing, as per current government guidance, you do not stay away from home overnight and return to your home mooring (where you have one).

From Saturday, 23 May: Mooring exemptions will come to an end and our guidance for continuous cruisers comes back in to force. This doesn’t mean that every boat without a home mooring needs to move on this day, just that we’d expect you to move off your current mooring within 14 days (i.e. by 6 June). If you are in a high-risk group, and need to continue to shield or self-isolate, then special arrangements can be agreed with your licence support officer if you haven’t already told us.

From Monday, 1 June: On this date, we anticipate that our navigations will re-open in full, subject to some exceptions*, and you will be able to undertake longer journeys. According to current Government guidance, those who do not liveaboard should not stay overnight. We will seek further clarification as to whether overnight stays will be permissible once full navigation resumes.

For now the guidance allows you to visit your boat for essential maintenance and security checks ONLY.

THE GUIDELINES ARE CLEAR – VISITING SECOND HOMES OR HOLIDAY HOMES IS NOT YET PERMITTED, SO YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAY ON YOUR BOAT (IF IT IS NOT YOUR PRIMARY RESIDENCE).

Despite this announcement, I’m afraid that the marina office will still remain closed and the gate will remain locked to limit visitors on site to moorers only.

Our main priority must continue to be our national effort to prevent the spread of the virus, to save lives and protect our NHS.

If you feel it necessary to visit your boat, please respect the guidelines regarding social distancing, hand-washing and face coverings, and please be respectful that we have people living on site - the marina is their home!

12th May 2020 – Coronavirus

Following the Prime Minister speech on 10th May we feel it would be useful to clarify our position.

Although certain restrictions were eased, there has been no change to government guidelines on visiting second homes, caravan parks, marina's etc..

Consequently, the marina remains closed.

As a privately controlled mooring facility, our strong focus at this time is on ensuring our staff and moorers (especially those 'at risk') are as safe as they can be.

Current government advice is to stay alert and control the virus. We cannot do this by allowing visitors from numerous locations.

We hope the situation will improve in the not too distant future and look forward to seeing you then.

Stay safe.
